PRESS RELEASE

This years Hollywood Fringe Festival hosts the world wide premier of talented playwright Amy Chaffee’s “A Light Romp Through the Minefield of Sexual Harassment”.

“A Light Romp Through the Minefield of Sexual Harassment” is a dark comedy inspired by life experiences and motivated by the vocalizations of thousands of victims.  Chaffee works to highlight the mundane acts of sexism and the complicity we all share in creating them. This bouncy two-hander centers around John- a newly-dumped lawyer as he deals with his marital separation (or that’s what John would tell you). If you have met a straight, white male who claims he’s a “feminist”, yet mansplains every single detail of any concept ever to you, then you know John.  The audience witnesses the funny, cringey, and upsettingly real relationships between John and his alternative therapist, Aina; and his relationship with his junior associate, and former college chum, Laurisha. Hard topics shone in a funny light, “A Light Romp Through the Minefield of Sexual Harassment” is not to be missed.

Chaffee has previously written “What Fresh Hell is This” and “Your Mother’s Vagina” which both performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Hollywood Fringe Festival hosted a sold out “Your Mother’s Vagina” in 2016. In 2014, Chaffee also released “I-80: An Invocation”. Chaffee is also a successful voice coach, currently a professor at Tulane University, and recently wrapped the second season of "The OA" for Netflix and coached Orlando Bloom in the title role of "Killer Joe" opening on the West End this May.
